There are several versions of Outlook available at any given time. This guide will follow the most recent version(s).
Initial Setup
- Select Tools/Account Settings... to view a list of existing accounts.
- Click New...
- Make sure POP3 Account is selected and click Next
- Check the Manually configure server settings or additional server types box and click Next
- Make sure Internet Email is selected and click Next
- Enter the following information:
- Name
- Email
- Account Type: POP3
- Incoming Mail Server: mail.yourwebsite.com
- Outgoing Mail Server: mail.yourwebsite.com
- User Name:
This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
- Password
- Remember Password (optional)
- Click the More Settings... button
- Feel free to complete the information under the General tab.
- Under the Outgoing Server tab, check the box next to My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and make sure that Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected.
- Under the Advanced tab update the following fields and click ok:
- Incoming server (POP3): 110
- Outgoing server (SMTP): 2525
- Click the Test Account Settings... button to verify connection
- Click the Next buttons and then the Finish button to complete setup.
