Creating a Menu Link
Click to Watch in Full Screen Mode.

To add a link to a menu select the menu from the list under Menu/… (Menu/mainmenu). This will bring up a list of the menu items and their current order and status.  Menu Items that are indented with a “L” indicate that they are a child item (submenu item) of another.  You’ll notice that similar to the Content Manager there is a Published / Unpublished state.  There is also ordering arrows that allow for quick repositioning of menu items.

  1. To create a new menu link click New in the upper right.
  2. The New Menu Item page will give a list of possible Menu Item link types to choose from.  The two standard links are either Link - Static Content (Link to a Static Content Item) or Link – Url (Link to an external page/file).  Select a link type to continue. For this instruction we’re going to link to a Static Content Item.
  3. Name your Menu Item (This will be what displays on the menu)
  4. Select the Static Content item from the populated list of items.
  5. Parent Item – This determines whether your link is a Top level link or a sub menu link of another Menu Item.  By default Top is selected.  If you wish to make the item a submenu link, select the item to be the Parent.
  6. Click Save.

Your menu link will now be listed in the Menu Manager list.  Make sure that the item is published or it will not display.
